techHire Summer Boot Camps are back in Miami!
The TechHire Bootcamps are designed to give our future workforce new pathways to middle and high skill jobs with good wages. The initiative connects Americans to both traditional and nontraditional educational resources. This includes a mix of accelerated learning programs like coding boot camps, on the job training, and other innovative channels for learning.
CareerSource South Florida and The Academy will assist youth with the opportunity to enhance their skills in the information technology industry. The TechHire Boot Camps are six weeks and upon completion, the participant will receive an industry recognized credential. The TechHire Boot Camps will offer participants for The Academy one of the following courses: Web Applications and Cybersecurity.The Academy
Upon completing the program, participants will receive a $300.00 stipend, and upon obtaining a credential, participants will receive an additional $200.00 stipend. You may qualify to participate if you are:
- Miami-Dade County resident
- Between the age of 15 – 24 years
- Receives free and/or reduced lunch or
- Family receives Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Web & Application Developer
The 6-week Web Developer boot camp will teach students Web & Application development programming concepts with a hands on, project-based learning approach. This program will teach STEM concepts in a fun and engaging way. This program helps to prepare future generations of web developers as well as coding enthusiast. Also, known as coders, web & application developers work on managing the application life cycle, build interfaces (UI) with HTML5, format the interface with CSS and code using JavaScript.
This course prepares participants for the Microsoft MTA: HTML 5 Application Development Fundamentals (Exam 98-375)
Cyber Security Network Apprentice
The 6-week Cyber Security Network Apprentice boot camp will teach students Cyber Security Networking concepts with a hands on, project-based learning approach. This program will teach STEM concepts in a fun and engaging way. This program helps to prepare future generations of cyber security engineers as well as technology enthusiast. Also, known as computer network architects, cyber security engineers work with a company’s computer network, using information technology to make network systems secure for all employees to use. These data networks can include local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets and extranets.
This course prepares participants for the Microsoft MTA: IT Infrastructure Networking Fundamentals certification (Exam # 98-366)
A lottery selection process is used to identify youth to participate in TechHire Bootcamp.
