This is a self-paced online course developed to easily understand and apply ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) coding.

This course is intended to benefit coders, billing staff, and clinicians interested in familiarizing themselves with ICD-10-CM.

You will gain an understanding of the history, organization, and structure, see how ICD-10-CM compares to ICD-9-CM, explore changes module by module, and learn coding conventions and guidelines.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have:

  • At least a high school diploma but an associate’s degree is highly recommended
  • Prior coding experience would be helpful
