The Jobs and Training Division is excited to announce our upcoming Job Fair. The Job Fair is free and open to the public. The Job Fair will be held onsite at the Urban League of Broward County, 560 Northwest 27th Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33311 on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. We are anticipating over 20 employers to be onsite to fill advanced, entry and summer positions.

There will be free resume preparation and printing services on the day of the job fair from 10:00 am-11:00 am.

Our Dress for Success Boutique will be open to assist individuals with free interviewing clothing on the day of the Job Fair from 9:30 am-11:00 am.

C.O.R.E. Program Orientation Tickets


Critical Occupation Responses through Education (C.O.R.E.) is a program for work ready individuals ages 16 and older with an interest in job-related training. Gain access to free training and certification in a high demand field, career counseling, and job placement. Explore new career opportunities in the field of Information Technology, White Belt and Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. Attend an orientation today.

What is C.O.R.E.?

The C.O.R.E. (Critical Occupation Response to Education) Program is tailored to be a rapid response to employment shortages in key areas of Florida’s economy. C.O.R.E. is funded by the Department of Economic Opportunity. Participation in training through C.O.R.E. results in a certification in the following areas: White Belt Six Sigma, Information Technology or Supply Chain Management. Courses are offered through C.O.R.E. are taught by an instructor from Broward College who works within their respective industry.

Length of Program:
Course offerings can range from 1 day to 2 weeks depending on the course selected. Refer to our course schedule for specific date offerings for each course.

Individuals 16+ years of age are interested in Technical Training who have earned either a High School Diploma or GED.

Results of Program Completion:
After a student participates in C.O.R.E., they receive either an industry certification or a certificate of completion depending on the course they selected. Having an industry certification or certificate of completion can be a major resume booster when applying to jobs or seeking a promotion.

We are committed to strengthening the family unit by promoting economic self-sufficiency. Through training, career building and job placement services, we help equip individuals with tools needed to enter or re-enter the workforce. Our Center for Working Families offers a full range of essential economic resources for low-income residents to help them succeed in the workforce, stabilize their finances and build assets.

For 40 years, the Urban League of Broward County has worked with our partners to create a fair shot at success for thousands of people.

Our “Breaking The Cycle” programs provide our community with access to life-changing employment and education opportunities and quality housing and health care services. These programs cut poverty by improving economic stability and uplifting struggling individuals and families.

Just look at what we’ve accomplished through these programs:

Jobs: 9 out of 10 participants obtain employment or advance their careers upon receiving our job readiness and soft skills training.

Education: 100% of high school students enrolled in our education program pursue college or specialized training.

Housing: 267 foreclosures prevented through our home ownership counseling, loan modification or other home retention strategy.

Health: Close to 300 pregnant women a year get safe and reliable prenatal care.
